1. Really nice park with very helpful staff. I'd definately stay here again. 2. Roads are NARROW. If you don't have a pull-through site, avoid coming in after dark & in the rain (like I did). Fortunately, the campers across the road were available to move their truck. 3. Site was not level, which kind of surprised me, since "resort style" RV parks are usually pool table flat. 4. Site hook-ups were near the front of the site. If your hookups (water, sewer, electric) are at the rear of your RV, you'll need to park it much closer to the road. 5. We tried the bus the first day, but decided the 45 minute trip to the train station and the hour trip back wasn't worth it. Parking at the train station is $4.25/day (+ a one-time charge for a $5.00 SmartCard which lasts forever). This is a lot cheaper than the $10.80 per day you will pay for 4 people to ride the bus. We paid a bit less since we have a AAA membership.
Hosts allowed late check-in, but it was very difficult to locate our site without someone to guide us. Very narrow roads with trees close to roadway, questionable clientele (local police were patrolling), a lot of people wandering around late at night. Pull through site was not long enough to accomodate our 23' trailer with tow vehicle. Needed to back out of site as there wasn't room to pull through.
Clean, new restrooms & showers in the north campground. Enough trees for shade but trimmed high enough to avoid hitting the roof of even big rigs. Very visible ranger presence. Only a 2 minute walk to the shore of Lake Huron. Sites are roomy & convenient for multisite group outings. Best of all, only an hour from Metro Detroit. Nicely stocked small camp store.
A nice family campground (clearly stated to campers no alcohol allowed) in a great tourist area. Very steep entrance drive to a nicely appointed park. Many amenities (electric hook ups, restrooms, showers) appeared to be new or recently remodeled. The site we had was not level and required quite a bit of lumber to level the trailer, making it difficult to get in/out of trailer due to height of the step. The one restroom/shower facility was about a half mile walk, although they did have Porta Potties at the end of each row of campsites (wife and daughter chose to make the walk instead of using these). Wife/daughter also said women's shower room was very crowded, but clean. Onsite owners were easily accessible and were always around. A very nice campground.
